Boursa Kuwait extends emergency measures against COVID-19

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait Securities Company has obtained the Capital Markets Authority’s (CMA) approval to continue trading operations with the applied precautionary measures, in a bid to protect the health and safety of all stakeholders against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The decision comes into effect immediately until the end of the previously announced public holiday ending on 26 March, according to an official statement on Thursday.

Trading will resume normally, with no changes in trading hours.

However, all procedures related to the transfer of ownership, mandatory execution, off-market trades, and over the counter trading (OTC) will continue to be temporarily halted until further notice.

Moreover, Boursa Kuwait has cancelled all of its external meetings, except for extremely urgent situations. Internal meetings have also been held to a minimum.

The measures include reducing the number of working employees while allowing others to work remotely as may be required. A system of rotation has been activated inside key departments.

Boursa Kuwait’s premises will continue to be closed to the public.
