Boursa Kuwait falls on Thursday for 2nd session in row

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Thursday’s trading session in red for the second successive session in line with increasing liquidity.

The All-Share Market edged down 0.01% or 0.31 points to 5,199.64 points.

Similarly, the Premier and Main markets retreated 0.01% each.

The consumer services segment led six decliners with 2.21%, while the technology sector topped six gainers with 6.5%.

Kuwait Real Estate was the top loser with a fall of 9.4%, while First Takaful headed the winners with a rise of 12.25%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 14% to KWD 37.93 million on Thursday from KWD 33.3 million in the prior session after the trading volume shrank by 8.1% to 168.91 million shares from 183.79 million.

The large profits recorded by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) impacted the investors’ sentiment positively, deputy head of the research unit at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.

He noted that profit-taking activity caused Boursa Kuwait to decline for the second session in a row.

The Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) was the most active stock on which 34.62 million shares were traded at a value of KWD 9.48 million, the stock added 2.22% to 276 fils.
