Boursa Kuwait in green at Tuesday’s close

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory amid anticipation for the market’s promotion on the MSCI Emerging Market Index.

The All-Share Market index added 0.33% or 19.45 points to close at 5,829.4 points. Similarly, both the Premier and Main markets rose by 0.23% and 0.63%, respectively.

Boursa Kuwait is expected to attract new inflows that can exceed $2.5 billion, deputy head of the investment research unit at KAMCO Investment Raed Diab told Mubasher.

The third phase of the plan set for developing Boursa Kuwait will witness the launch of short selling in the near future, Diab noted.

The turnover decreased by 14.7% to KWD 40.65 million on Tuesday from KWD 47.66 million in the previous session, while the trading volume declined by 2% to 143.19 million shares from 146.11 million.

The consumer goods segment topped seven gainers with 2.14%, while the insurance sector led three decliners with 0.85%.

UPAC was the top winner with 10%, while Asia Capital led the losers with 8.33%.

KFH posted the highest liquidity of KWD 5.37 million, the stock added 0.29%.

AUB Bahrain was the most active stock on which 19.37 million shares were exchanged, the stock closed at 263 fils.
