Boursa Kuwait in red at Sunday’s close amid lower liquidity

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session with a grouped decreased; the main price index lost 0.22% or 14.6 points to 6,639.98 points.

Similarly, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices went down 0.35% and 0.57%, respectively.

Boursa Kuwait is still affected by the other markets’ performance despite the good financial results that have been announced so far, capital market analyst Mohamad Al Anzi told Mubasher.

The benchmark price index and the weighted index are expected to remain negative if they do not break the levels of 6,685 points and 410 points, respectively.

The banking segment led six decliners with 1.2%, dragged by Ithmaar which fell by 10.28% to be the top loser.

Meanwhile, real estate companies topped five gainers with 1.03%, backed by Real Estate Asset Management with a rise of 10%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 21% to KWD 9.11 million on Sunday compared to KWD 11.52 million in the previous session after the trading volume decreased by 13.5% to 62.56 million shares from 72.31 million.

Kuwait Investment was the most active stock on which 10.82 million shares were traded at a total value of KWD 1.58 million. The stock went up 8.5%, in line with the disclosure of the company’s financials and dividends distributions.
