Mubasher: For the second months in a row, Boursa Kuwait showed a negative performance in May.
The general index lost 1.32% by the end of May, as it closed at 4,735.72 points, compared with the level of 4,799.05 at the end of April.
The main index decreased 0.38% to 4,816.34 points, losing 18.65 points.
As for the market index, it lost 1.84% and ended the month at 4,690.55.
Traded volumes declined 11.2% to 1.2 billion shares in May, compared with 1.35 billion shares in April, despite that May had more trading sessions (23) than April’s 21.
Traded values also went down 15% to KWD 204.75 million from KWD 240.82 million in the month before.
The number of transactions shrank 6% to around 57,340 from 60,960.
