Kuwait – Mubasher: The indexes of Boursa Kuwait saw a negative performance on Thursday, dragged down by the fall of six sectors led by the consumer services and banks.
The main index went down 0.09% or 6.24 points to reach 6,762.82 points. The weighted index fell 0.70%, and the Kuwait-15 index levelled down 1.10%.
The consumer services sector retreated 1.36% as Eyas and Oula sank 5% and 0.83%, respectively.
The banks sector fell 0.88% after National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) slid 3.30%.
On the other hand, the financial services sector topped gainers with a 0.43% rise, spurred by Ekttitab Holding which added 19.44%.
The oil and gas sector went up 0.4% after Independent Petroleum Group (IPG) increased 3.15%.
Liquidity declined to KWD 6.74 million on Thursday, compared to KWD 7.29 million on Wednesday. Trading volume fell to 34.76 million shares from 37.34 million shares.
Hits Telecom Holding was the most active stock with a trading volume of 4.69 million shares, while Educational Holding Group (EDU) was the value leader after generating KWD 811,270.
