Boursa Kuwait indices close Sunday in decline

Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait lost 1.32% or 82.4 points to close Sunday’s session at 6,176.06 points.

Similarly, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated 1.46% and 1.17%, respectively.

The maximum level of the price index is at 6,350 points, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy told Mubasher.

He noted that the 6,000-point level is still in range, with the target at 5,900 points.

Al Filkawy added that the maximum level for the weighted index is 400 points, with the target at 370 points, yet the 380-point level is still in range.

The insurance segment led ten decliners with 4.8%, dragged by Al Ahleia Insurance which lost 20% to be the top loser.

The telecom sector also retreated 3.94% in line with the 7.83% fall of Ooredoo, followed by Viva and Zain which dropped 5.3% and 2.2%, respectively.

Similarly, the banks segment went down 1.13%, dragged by Ithmaar which dropped 6.5%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 28.1% to KWD 13.49 million on Sunday compared to KWD 18.77 million in the previous session, after the trading volume decreased by 17.2% to 81.51 million shares from 98.47 million.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 3.81 million, falling by 0.92%.

Investors was the most active stock on which 10.54 million shares were traded, rising 4.94%.
