Boursa Kuwait indices close Tuesday in red

Mubasher: The benchmark price index closed Tuesday’s session 0.13% or 9 points lower at 6,664.03 points, the weighted index retreated 0.21%, and the Kuwait-15 index declined by 0.52%.

The performance of Boursa Kuwait is promising, capital market analyst Jarrah Al Hindy told Mubasher.

Boursa Kuwait will rise as long as the price index maintains its performance at 6,050 points or above, the analyst added.

Oil and gas companies led three decliners with 2.5%, dragged by Napesco which lost 7%.

Meanwhile, the telecom segment topped seven gainers with 2.4%, backed by Viva which added 3.44%.

Warba Insurance was the top winner with a growth of 17.54% or 10 fils to close at 67 fils.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover decreased by 1% to KWD 18.18 million on Tuesday compared to KWD 18.37 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased by 0.5% to 135.63 million shares from 134.94 million.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 3.62 million.

Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 39.4 million shares were exchanged.
