Boursa Kuwait indices close Tuesday mixed

Mubasher: The benchmark index of Boursa Kuwait closed Tuesday’s trading session 0.04% or 2.43 points higher at 6,892.8 points, while both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated by 0.32% and 0.60%, respectively.

The industrial segment topped gainers with 0.45%, backed by National Industries which rose by 4.4%.

The financial services sector edged up 0.2%, pushed by Al Madar Finance which gained 9.25% to be the top winner.

Meanwhile, the telecom sector led decliners with 0.4%, dragged by Zain which lost 0.92%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 23.4% to KWD 4.8 million on Tuesday compared to KWD 20.89 million in the previous session, as the trading volume increased by 4% to 166.39 million shares from 160 million.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 4.8 million, falling by 1.51%.

National Industries was the most active stock on which 20.23 million shares were exchanged at a value of KWD 3.16 million.

Boursa Kuwait remains in a state of volatility in line with profit taking activity after blue chips noticeably went higher, deputy head of the research unit at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.

The rise in oil prices may form a sentiment for the market; however, new positions need to be built, the analyst added.
