Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait ended Wednesday’s trading session with a mixed performance; the benchmark price index dropped 0.24% or 15.82 points to 6,603.51 points, extending the downward trend for the ninth session in a row.
Meanwhile, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices gained by 0.75% and 1.05% to close at 409.57 points and 958.73 points, respectively.
The main price index is expected to decline on Thursday in line with the ongoing downward before the market segmentation, capital market analyst Saad Al Roumi told Mubasher.
Real estate companies led four decliners with 0.75%, dragged by Tijara and Real Estate Investment which lost 9.7%.
Meanwhile, the insurance segment topped gainers with 2.8%, backed by Al Ahleia Insurance which increased by 17.4%.
Boubyan International led the losers with 12.7%, while Gulf Franchising and Kuwait Cable topped the winners with 20% each.
Boursa Kuwait’s trading value grew to by 7.7% to KWD 41.65 million on Wednesday from KWD 38.66 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased by 36.2% to 11.26 million shares from 8.27 million.
Zain posted the highest trading value of KWD 2.1 million. The stock added 2.2%.
Aayan Leasing was the most active stock on which 6.62 million shares were traded. The stock fell by 5.32%.
