Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait maintained its uptrend for the third session in a row on Wednesday, backed by the growth of ten sectors.
The benchmark price index rose 0.87% or 58.50 points to reach 6,785.37 points. The weighted and Kuwait-15 indices also grew 0.59% and 0.21%, respectively.
The consumer staples sector led gainers with a 4.74% rise, backed by the increase of Eyas for Higher and Technical Education at 20%.
The banks sector added 1.30% as Ithmar Holding climbed 4.60%.
The industrial sector grew 1.22% as National Industries went up 11.9%.
On the other hand, the telecom sector fell 1.35% as Hits Telecom retreated 6.8%. The insurance sector also sank 0.38% after First Takaful Insurance tumbled 3.38%.
Turnover reached KWD 16.61 million on Wednesday, compared to KWD 5.10 million on Tuesday. Trading volume stood at 81.16 million shares, compared to 23.67 million shares.
Ahli United Bank was the most active stock after trading 8.95 million shares, while Agility was the value leader after generating KWD 2.94 million.
