Boursa Kuwait indices decline at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session with a massive drop; the main price index retreated 43.3 points, or 0.64%, to 6,720.97 points.

Similarly, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices levelled down 0.76% and 0.72%, respectively.

The banking segment led ten decliners with 2.3%, dragged by Ithmaar which lost 11.9%.

Telecom companies declined by 1.71% in line with the drop of Aan Digital and Zain with 5.7% and 1.55%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the basic materials and technology sectors were the only gainers with 0.43% and 0.14%, respectively.

Kuwait Cable led losers with 20%, while Kuwait Finance and Investment (KFIC) was the top winner with 13.5%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover grew by 10.1% to KWD 10.05 million on Sunday compared to KWD 9.13 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased by 31% to 68.48 million shares from 52.27 million.

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest trading value of KWD 2.2 million.

Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 11.15 million shares were exchanged.
