Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait dropped 2.48% or 165.9 points to close October at 6,513.83 points, compared to 6,679.73 points in September.
The weighted index retreated by 2.51% or 10.8 points to close this month at 419.91 points from 430.7 points in September.
Similarly, the Kuwait-15 index went down by 3% or 29.6 points to end October at 967.81 points from 997.37 points in the previous month.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity grew by 9.3% to KWD 465.83 million in October from KWD 426.24 million in the past month.
The trading volume increased by 19.5% to total 2.48 billion shares compared to 2.08 billion.
The number of executed transactions rose by 20.2% to around 86,440 compared to nearly 71,910 in September.
The telecom segment topped ten decliners during the month with a drop of 7.4%, while the oil and gas sector was the only gainer with a rise of 1.12%.
By the end of October, market cap shrank by 2.9% or KWD 860 million ($2.85 billion) to KWD 28.49 billion ($94.33 billion) compared to KWD 29.35 billion ($97.18 billion) in September.
