Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait indices saw varying performance at the close of Sunday’s trading session.
The price index gained 0.83% or 54.55 points and closed at 6,637.30 points, and the weighted index edged up 0.03%, whereas the Kuwait 15 index slipped 0.6%, compared to Thursday’s closings.
Seven sectors ended the session in the green, led by real estate, which grew 1.84% backed by a number of stocks, spearheaded by Mena Real Estate, which surged 8.93%.
The banking sector increased 0.13% after three of its stocks ended up, led by Ahli United Bank – Kuwait (AUB – Kuwait) with 1.15%, followed by AUB and Warba with 0.91% and 0.81%, respectively.
On the flipside, four sectors ended Sunday down, led by insurance which lost 1.63% pressured by three of its stocks. First Takaful Insurance topped the sector’s fallers, after suffering a 6.3% drop.
Traded volume fell to 416.87 million shares, from 531.87 million on Thursday. Similarly, turnover declined to KWD 42.28 million from KWD 55.31 million in the previous session.
Abyaar’s stock, up 3%, was the most active in terms of traded volume with 42 million shares, while Agility, down 7.14%, was the most active in terms of traded value with KWD 8 million. Agility’s stock declined following news that the Iraqi government had confiscated the company’s investments worth $3.8 billion.
