Boursa Kuwait indices end Tuesday mixed; turnover drops

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait’s indices closed Tuesday mixed, after the price index edged up 0.08% or 5.01 points to 6,630.13 points, whereas the Kuwait 15 and weighted indices shed 0.32% and 0.13%, respectively.

Turnover dropped to KWD 13.13 million on Tuesday from KWD 14.79 million on Monday, while traded volume decreased to 114.84 million shares from 131.13 million.

The oil and gas sector led risers, adding 2.82% on the back of four stocks, led by PetroGulf, which surged 10.22%, while the real estate sector added 0.61% after Tijara and Real Estate Investment jumped 10%.

On the flipside, seven sectors ended in the red, led by industrial with 0.28%, pressured by a 12-stock drop, led by Acico’s 3.61% decline.

The banking sector slipped 0.1% after the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) lost 0.89%.

Kuwait Cable Vision topped Boursa Kuwait’s gainers on Tuesday, soaring 19.2%, whereas Amar for Finance and Leasing led fallers, sliding 8.89%.

PetroGulf was the most active in terms of traded volume with 12.4 million shares, while NBK led in terms of turnover with KWD 2.05 million.
