Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait declined at the closing of Sunday’s trading session; the benchmark price index retreated by 0.34% or 22.8 points to 6,629.11 points.
Similarly, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices lost 0.64% and 0.76%, respectively.
The consumer services segment led decliners with 1.17%, dragged by First Fuel which lost 1.71% and Jiyad Holding which dropped 19.7% to be the top loser.
Telecom companies retreated 1.17%, in line with the fall of Viva, Zain, and Ooredoo which 2.03%, 1.45%, and 0.35%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector topped six gainers with 0.95%, backed by IPG which added 2.5%.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover lost 1.3% to KWD 14.04 million on Sunday compared to KWD 14.23 million in the previous session after the trading volume decreased by 3.4% to 105.51 million shares from 109.22 million.
Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 3.91 million; the stock dropped 1.3% despite the positive financial results for fiscal year 2017.
Industries was the most active stock on which 9.81 million shares were traded through 137 transactions.
