Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Thursday in the green zone after the benchmark price index inched up 0.04% or 2.42 points to reach 6,628.54 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices edged up 0.1%, and 0.02%, respectively.
The oil and gas sector increased 1.42% as Independent Petroleum Group’s (IPG) stock surged 9.6%, while the real estate sector grew 0.27% after Kuwait Remal Real Estate’s (Remal) stock gained 7.8%.
The banks sector increased 0.24% as Ahli United Bank’s (AUB) stock rose 2.44%.
On the flipside, the telecommunications sector decreased 0.84% after the stock of Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) shed 0.8%.
Boursa Kuwait liquidity surged 8.1% to reach KWD 15.12 million on Thursday, against KWD 13.99 million on Wednesday, whereas trading volume retreated 11.4% to 72.53 million shares, from 81.87 million shares.
Zain’s stock led Boursa Kuwait in terms of trading value with a turnover of KWD 2.58 million, while Al Imtiaz Investment Group’s stock, up 1.8%, topped in terms of traded volume after 6.66 million shares were exchanged.
