Boursa Kuwait indices mixed at Monday’s close

Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait went up 0.62% or 41.4 points to close Monday’s session at 6,712.21 points, while both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated 0.26% and 0.54%, respectively.

The stock of Real Estate Asset Management (REAM) has played a key role in backing the price index to exceed the 6,700-point level after a transaction was executed on the stock, capital market analyst Badar Al Badr told Mubasher.

If the price index closes Tuesday’s session above 6,700 points, the next level will be around 6,800 points; however, if the index closes the session below 6,700 points, it will head to the support level 6,680 points, Al Badr added.

Real estate companies topped five gainers with 3.1%, endorsed by REAM which added 17.65% to be the top winner.

Meanwhile, the banking sector led six decliners with 1.13%, dragged by Ithmaar which lost 6.5%.

Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity increased by 22.3% to KWD 10.98 million on Monday compared to KWD 8.98 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased by 25.6% to 89.44 million shares from 71.24 million.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest turnover of KWD 3.7 million. The stock went down 1.08%.

Falling by 4.68%, Sokouk Holding was the most active stock on which 27.5 million shares were traded.
