Mubasher: The price index of Boursa Kuwait added 0.39% or 24.7 points to close Tuesday at 6,369.43 points, the weighted index edged up 0.07%, while the Kuwait-15 index retreated 0.12%.
Speculations at Boursa Kuwait are still ongoing amid the lack of portfolios and investment funds, deputy head of the research unit at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.
He added that catalysts disappeared from the stock market’s trades in line with the annual closures during this time of each year.
Technology companies topped seven gainers with 3.8%, followed by oil and gas firms which added 1.32%.
Meanwhile, the telecom sector led three decliners with 0.8%, dragged by Aan Digital and Zain which lost 3.5% and 0.47%, respectively.
Shuaiba Industrial was the top winner with 17.32%.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover grew by 46% to KWD 8.26 million on Tuesday compared to KWD 5.66 million in the previous session, after the trading volume increased by 46.7% to 68.53 million shares from 46.72 million.
Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.43 million.
Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 21.28 million shares were exchanged.
