Kuwait – Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait saw a volatile performance in Wednesday’s early trades.
The price index added 0.23% or 15.84 points to 6,775.24 points by 9:40 am Kuwait time. Meanwhile, the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices declined 0.16% and 0.34%, respectively.
The oil and gas sector led gainers after rising 0.60% as Energy House Holding added 4.78%.
The industrial sector grew 0.59% as Metal and Recycling Company (MRC) went up 7.04%.
On the other hand, the consumer staples sector topped losers with a 0.65% decline as Danah Al Safat Foodstuff and Livestock Transport and Trading sank 2.30% and 1.92%, respectively.
The banks sector fell 0.17% as Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK) retreated 2.63%.
First Takaful Insurance led gainers with a rise of 9.09%, while Awj Holding led losers with a drop of 5.95%.
Turnover amounted to KWD 3.5 million, with a trading volume of 25.4 million shares exchanged through 807 transactions.
Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) led losers with a 1.15% decline, generating KWD 977,450 from the exchange of 2.3 million shares.
