Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Thursday’s trading session 0.16% or 10.6 points higher to reach 6,703.04 points.
Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices went up 0.64% and 1.02%, respectively.
By 9:53am Kuwait time, the telecom segment topped gainers with 1.52%, backed by Zain which rose by 6.4%.
The banks sector also levelled up 0.21%, endorsed by the rise of six leading shares, including Burgan Bank, Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK), and the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) which rose by 0.83%, 0.8%, and 0.38%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the consumer services segment led five decliners with 0.35%, dragged by Alrai and Jazeera which fell by 1.64% and 1.55%, respectively.
Al Masaken International was the top winner with a gain of 11.27%, while National Industries led losers with a fall of 7.5%.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 22.52 million after 98 million shares were traded through 2,730 transactions.
Zain was the most active stock on which 19.9 million shares were exchanged through 623 transactions at a total value of KWD 11.11 million.
