Boursa Kuwait indices open Tuesday higher

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Tuesday’s trading session with a grouped increase; the price index went up 0.25% or 16.7 points to reach 6,652.64 points, the weighted index gained 0.16%, and the Kuwait-15 index edged up 0.18%.

The price index is expected to target 6,700 points if it exceeds the 6,645-point level and hold above it, capital market analyst Badar Al Badr told Mubasher.

By 9:32am Kuwait time, the real estate segment topped gainers with a rise of 0.62%, backed by Marakez which gained 13.5% to be the top winner.

The banks segment also levelled up 0.34% in line with the rise of Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK), Boubyan Bank, and Kuwait Finance House (KFH) by 1.2%, 0.44%, and 0.33%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the telecom as well as the oil and gas sectors retreated 0.19% and 0.01%, respectively.

Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity amounted to KWD 1.9 million after 12.2 million shares were traded through 530 transactions.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) recorded the highest liquidity of nearly KWD 383,700 to reach 786 fils.
