Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait indices rose collectively at the closing of Sunday’s trading session, registering the first green close since the segmentation of the market earlier this month.
The All-Share Market Index added 0.64% or 30.9 points and closed at 4,851.66 points, while Main Index grew 0.27% or 13.1 points to end at 4,880.94 points, and the Premier Market Index increased 0.86% or 41.2 points to close at 4,834.68 points.
Turnover on Boursa Kuwait dropped 22.9% to KWD 8.47 million on Sunday from KWD 10.99 million on Thursday, while traded volume declined 8% to 42.32 million shares versus 46 million.
The banking sector led the market’s risers, adding 1.4% after seven stocks ended higher, led by the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) in the Premier Market with around 3%, while Ahli United Bank Kuwait (Almutahed) went up 3.1%.
On the other hand, five sectors declined, led by insurance, which lost 1.9% after Warba Insurance and Kuwait Insurance retreated 10% and 9.69%, respectively.
NBK was the most active in terms of turnover with KWD 1.57 million, whereas Manazel Holding, up 15.65% and leading gainers, registered the highest volume of 7.51 million shares.
