Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait rose by 4.37% or 279.81 points to reach 6,408 points in January compared to 6,408 points in December.
The weighted index added 2.63% or 2.6 points to 411.98 points in January compared to 401.42 points in the previous month.
Similarly, the Kuwait-15 index gained 2.84% or 26 points to close January at 940.81 points from 914.87 points in December.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity grew by 67.7% to total KWD 322.92 million in January 2018 from KWD 192.51 million in December 2017.
The trading volume increased by 110.5% to 2.61 billion shares in January from 1.24 billion in the previous month.
At the transactions level, January registered 93,330 deals that were 77% higher than nearly 52,750 in December.
Real estate companies topped gainers in January with 13.9%, while the industrial sector was the least gainer with 1.6%.
Meanwhile, the insurance segment led four decliners with 6.5%.
