Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait has seen positive performance during the first week of April, boosted by an improvement in liquidity, especially on the stocks of the Premier Market index.
The Premier Market surged 179.7 points, or 3.02%, to 6,137.71 points over the course of this week, compared to 5,957.98 a week before, while the Main Market index jumped 84 points, or 1.73%, to 4,956.33 points.
The All-Share Market index soared 148.1 points, or 2.65%, to 5,731.91 points this week.
The bourse’s trading volume fell 18.3% to 678.63 million shares over the four-session week, compared to 830.21 million a week earlier, while liquidity rose 7% to KWD 175.29 million, versus KWD 163.89 million.
The number of transactions slid 13.1% to 26,350 this week, against 30,320 deals in the week before.

Boursa Kuwait’s market capitalisation grew 2.7% to KWD 32.83 million over the course of this week, against KWD 31.98 million in the previous week.
On Sunday, the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) announced that Thursday, 4 April 2019 would be an official holiday in celebration of al-Isra` and Mi'raj journey.
