Boursa Kuwait likely to see higher cash inflows after entry to ME list

Mubasher: Cash inflows at Boursa Kuwait are expected to increase largely, after the stock market was listed under the FTSE Russell Emerging Markets Index, according to a recent report issued by Bayan Investment Co.

Capital market experts have project that around $1.8 billion net cash inflows will be pumped into Boursa Kuwait following this upgrade, the report added.

Since announcing in early August that Boursa Kuwait may be promoted to an emerging market, the market cap has gain nearly KWD 2 billion, pushed by the strong performance of heavy-weighted stocks, namely in the banks sectors and some of logistics shares.

Lower cash inflows will be considered as one of the main challenges that has been facing the stock market for the past years, Bayan’s report noted.

During the week ended on 5 October, Boursa Kuwait registered market gains of KWD 400 million.
