Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait started Monday’s trades higher; the benchmark price index went up 0.32% or 20 points to reach 6,276.56 points.
By 9:34am Kuwait time, the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices went up 0.51% and 0.63%, respectively.
The financial services segment topped gainers with 0.94%, backed by Kuwait Financial Centre (Markaz) which grew 0.94%.
The consumer services sector edged up 0.6%, in line with the 4.6% rise of Muntazahat.
The banks segment rose 0.41%, backed by the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) which rose 0.83%.
Meanwhile, the basic materials as well as the oil and gas sectors were the only decliners with 0.83% and 0.06%, respectively.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 3.7 million after 13.4 million shares were traded through 660 transactions.
The NBK posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.41 million.
