Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Monday's trading session with a mixed performance as the main price index inched up 0.03% or 2 points, to 6,357.97 points, whereas the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices fell 0.17% and 0.18%, respectively.
By 9:57 am Kuwait time, the basic materials sector led risers with 0.69%. The consumer services rose 0.4% as Kuwait Resorts’ (Muntazahat) increased 5.07%.
On the flipside, the telecommunications sector decreased 1.55% after Kuwait Telecommunication Co (Viva) and Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) dropped 3.25% and 1.2% respectively.
Kuwait Real Estate Holding’s (Al-Aqaria) topped gainers with 13.64%, whereas Effect Real Estate Co retreated 16.4%.
The bourse’s trading volume amounted to 15.1 million shares, through 772 transactions, with a liquidity of KWD 2.6 million.
Zain’s stock was the most active after 2.22 million shares were exchanged, through 150 deals, generating KWD 950,700.
