Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Sunday’s trading session with a massive decline; the benchmark price index went down 21.7 points, or 0.32%, to 6,786.21 points.
By 9:30 am Kuwait time, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated 0.06% and 0.05%, respectively.
Technology companies led decliners with 0.69%, followed by the real estate segment which edged down 0.5% in line with the 20% plunge of Marakez which led losers.
Meanwhile, the banking sector topped gainers with 0.23%, backed by Ithmaar which rose by 3%.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 1.3 million after 15.6 million shares were exchanged through 535 transactions.
Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 191,000. The stock levelled down 0.78%.
Gulf Investment House, on which trading was resumed on Sunday, was the most active stock on which 4.5 million shares were traded, the stock dropped 20%.
