Boursa Kuwait opens Sunday in green

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait's indices rose collectively in Sunday’s early trades. The benchmark price index hiked 0.3%, or 18.4 points, to 6,214.86 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices edged up 0.55% and by 0.72%, respectively.

By 9:26 am Kuwait time, the financial service sector topped the list of the gainers, led by Kuwait & Middle East Financial Investment Company (KMEFIC) which advanced 16.3%.

Similarly, the banking sector jumped 0.57% after the stocks of Warba Bank, Kuwait Finance House and Boubyan Bank levelled up 1.4%, 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the oil sector declined 1.6%, pressured by National Petroleum Services Company (NAPESCO)'s 3.5% drop, while the telecommunication sector slid 0.64% after Kuwait Telecommunication Company fell 2.05%.

Boursa Kuwait’s trading volume amounted to 23.2 shares traded through 900,901 transactions at a turnover of KWD 4.62 million.

Kuwait Finance House’s stock led the Boursa Kuwait in terms of liquidity with KWD 1.37 million, while the National Industries Group Holding headed the market in terms of trading volume with 4.9 million share, surging 2.04%.
