Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait's indices dropped in Thursday’s opening session, pressured by a decrease in the banks and telecom sectors.
By 9:40 am Kuwait time, the price index shed 0.42%, or 28.58 points to 6,770.15 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices fell 0.52% and 0.49%, respectively.
Ten sectors declined, led by telecom with 1.7%, as Ooredoo decreased 3.2%.
Financial services fell by 1.45%, pressured by Kuwait Projects Holding (KIPCO) which lost 6.02%.
The banks sector dropped 0.42%, due to a 1.87% decrease in Ahli United Bank (AUB).
On the other hand, the insurance sector levelled up 0.92%, as First Takaful Insurance topped gainers with 8.33%.
Turnover amounted to KWD 3.9 million exchanged through 28.7 million shares via 747 transactions.
Aayan Leasing and Investment, down 1.01%, led in terms of trading volume with 3.24 million shares, while Kuwait International Bank (KIB), down 0.80%, led in terms of liquidity with KWD 669,600.
