Boursa Kuwait opens Tuesday in green after national holiday

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Tuesday’s trading session with a grouped increase after the stock market was closed on Sunday and Monday on the occasion of the country’s national and liberation holiday.

By 9:30am Kuwait time, the benchmark price index gained 0.75% or 50.65 points to reach 6,807.19 points.

Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices added 0.86% and 1.12%, respectively.

The industrial segment topped gainers with 3%, backed by UPAC which rose by 20% to be the top winner. This growth followed the disclosure of UPAC’s FY17 income statements.

Oil and gas companies led decliners with 3.08%, dragged by IPG which lost 12.7%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 3.3 million after 20.5 million shares were exchanged through 640 transactions.

Warba Bank posted the highest trading value of about KWD 689,300. The stock added 2.07%.

Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 7.81 million shares were traded. The stock dropped 18.2% to be the top loser.
