Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Tuesday’s trading session in the red zone, affected by the resignation of the Kuwaiti government on Monday.
By 9:40am Kuwait time, the price index edged down 0.09% or 5.9 points to reach 6,555.62 points, the weighted index went down 0.22%, and the Kuwait-15 index retreated 0.24%.
The insurance segment led five decliners with 0.7%, followed by the telecom sector which dropped 0.6% in line with the 2.06% decline of Zain.
The banks sector also fell by 0.43%, dragged by six stocks that were led by the 4% drop of Ithmaar.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas as well as the financial services segments were the only gainers with a gain of 0.5% and 0.17%, respectively.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover amounted to KWD 3.5 million after 15.9 million shares were traded through 615 transactions.
Zain recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 1.41 million after 2.95 million shares were exchanged through 158 deals.
