Mubasher: The price index of Boursa Kuwait started Thursday’s trading session 0.13% or 9.2 points higher at 6,832.22 points.
The weighted index gained 0.47%, while the Kuwait-15 index retreated by 0.19%.
By 9:23 am Kuwait time, Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity stood at KWD 6.12 million after 19.32 million shares were exchanged through 685 transactions.
Zain was the most active stock on which 8.6 million shares were traded at a value of KWD 4.3 million, rising 6.9% to rank the second among top winners; the stock’s performance was impacted by Zain’s disclosure of selling treasury shares for Omantel at a value exceeding KWD 255 million.
The telecom segment topped gainers with 1.3%, while the oil and gas sector led decliners with a fall of 0.5%.
Kuwait Insurance was the top winner with a rise of 8.26%, while Burgan Drilling led losers with 7.4%.
