Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait retreated by 0.94% or 64.75 points to reach 6,849.11 points by the week ended on 20 September compared to 6,913.86 points in the previous week.
The weighted index levelled down 0.50% or 2.19 points to reach 439.13 points, and the Kuwait-15 index lost 5.47 points this week to close at 1,021.60 points on Thursday.
The benchmark price index is still trading within the support level of 6,885 points and a resistance of 6,950 points, capital market analyst Hassan Al Kandari said.
The main index needs resistance of 6,950 points with a higher level of liquidity, at which the index will target 7,000 points and 7,175 points as its first and second goals, respectively, the analyst added.
During the four-session week, Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 38.6% to KWD 103.06 million from KWD 167.74 million in the previous week.
The trading volume decreased by 11.3% to 617.31 million shares compared to 695.72 million.
The number of transactions declined by 25.6% to nearly 18,770 from about 25,220 in the prior week.
