Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed in the green over the week ended on 21 December, after they closed positively in the prior week.
The benchmark price index added 1.3% or 82 points to 6,413.72 points this week from 6,331.72 points last week.
The weighted index went up 0.25% to 400.78 points, and the Kuwait-15 index gained 0.3% or 2.5 points to 912.58 points.
The main index is facing resistance at 6,430 points, from which breaking the index may reach 6,245 points; however, if the index rebounds from this point, it will face resistance at 6,318 points and 6,430 points, respectively, capital market analyst Hassan Al Kandry told Mubasher.
Al Kandry added that if the price index breaks the resistance 6,430 points, it is expected for it to target 6,550 points and 6,720 points, respectively.
If the index breaks the support level lies at 6,245 points, it will target 6,550 points as a first target and 6,430 points as a second target.
Turnover increased by 21.6% week-on-week to KWD 49.32 million from 40.57 million.
The trading volume grew by 17.2% to 322.58 million shares from 275.18 million, while transactions rose by 14.4% to nearly 13,480 from about 11,790.
Market cap went up 0.3% or KWD 80 million ($265.4 million) to KWD 27.2 billion ($90.24 billion) from KWD 27.12 billion ($89.97 billion).
