Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait on Wednesday registered the first grouped increase during the week; the price index edged up 0.03% or 1.9 points to 6,371.29 points, the weighted index added 0.28%, and the Kuwait-15 index rose 0.42%.
Telecom companies topped seven gainers with 5.4%, backed by Viva and Zain which added 9.7% and 1%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector led four decliners with 1.09%, dragged by IPG and PetroGulf which lost 3.81% and 3.01%, respectively.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover declined by 13.9% to KWD 7.11 million on Wednesday compared to KWD 8.26 million on Tuesday after the trading volume decreased by 27% to 50.01 million shares from 68.53 million.
Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.12 million.
Jiyad was the most active stock on which 6.85 million shares were exchanged.
