Boursa Kuwait’s indices close Sunday mixed amid lower liquidity

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note; the All-Share market index added 0.24%, the Premier market went up 0.70%, while the Main Market retreated 1.01%.

The trading value decreased by 11% to KWD 18.98 million on Sunday from KWD 21.32 million in the previous session. Meanwhile, the trading volume shrank by 19.4% to 67.9 million shares from 84.23 million.

The liquidity of Boursa Kuwait is expected to register volatility during the coming two weeks, then it would increase in the last week of May, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy told Mubasher.

Boursa Kuwait’s telecom segment topped eight gainers with 1.22%, while the technology sector led the decliners with 18.86%.

Arabi Holding headed the winners with a gain of 10%, while Amwal led the losers with 26.64%.

The Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) was the most active stock on which 11.3 million shares were traded at a value of KWD 3.5 million. The stock went up 1.3% or 4 fils to close at 312 fils.
