Boursa Kuwait’s indices close Wednesday mixed

Mubasher: The benchmark price index dropped 0.56% or 36.16 points to close Wednesday at 6,384.48 points.

Meanwhile, both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices added 0.06% and 0.26%, respectively.

Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity shrank to KWD 9.67 million on Wednesday compared to KWD 10.25 million on Tuesday after the trading volume decreased to 42.64 million shares from 82.47 million.

Real estate companies led five decliners with 1.89%, dragged by Real Estate Asset Management (REAM) which lost 20% to be the top loser.

The industrial segment retreated by 0.67%, in line with the 12.69% decline of UPAC.

Meanwhile, the oil sector topped six gainers with 0.04%, backed by IPG which gained 0.74%.

The banking segment edged up 0.04%, led by the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) which rose 0.55%.

Ajwan was the most active stock on which 5.4 million shares were traded, rising 3.11%.

NBK posted the highest turnover of KWD 2.4 million.
