Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait registered a mixed performance in April amid higher market cap.
The All-Share Market index went up 0.22% or 12.2 points to close April at 5,630 points, compared to 5,617.82 points in March. The Premier Market gained 1.01% or 60.5 points.
Meanwhile, the Main Market retreated by 1.8% or 88.5 points to reach 4,828.82 points in April from 4,917.27 points a month ago.
The trading volume decreased by 0.23% to total 3.63 billion shares in April from 3.65 billion in the prior month.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity shrank by 14% to reach KWD 702.71 million during April from KWD 817.19 million in March.
The number of transactions increased by 17.7% to about 141,800 in April from approximately 120,440 in March.
As for the market cap, Boursa Kuwait registered gains of KWD 190 million ($1 million) to KWD 32.37 billion in April from KWD 32.18 billion in March.
