Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait registered a mixed performance during the week ended on 22 March; the benchmark price index lost 1.45% or 97.88 points to 6,662.35 points compared to 6,760.23 points in the week ended on 15 March.
The weighted index also edged down by 0.58% or 2.4 points to 409.71 points, while the Kuwait-15 index added 0.06% or 0.61 points to 958.6 points.
The main price index is still performing upwards, yet it is a negative trend in the short term, capital market analyst Hassan Al Kandry told Mubasher.
The rise in liquidity did not back the main index to break the resistance level of 6,810 points, the analyst added.
He said that in the short term, the benchmark price index will witness a support at 6,670 points, 6,650 points, and 6,540 points, respectively; a temporary rebound points.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 7% to KWD 53.93 million this week compared to KWD 50.39 million in the previous week, while the trading volume shrank by 4.8% to 249.63 million shares from 262.26 million.
Over the course of this week, the number of transactions went up 0.9% to about 12,420 from nearly 12,310.
At the market cap level, this week registered KWD 27.24 billion ($90.98 billion) which was 0.58% or KWD 160 million ($534.38 million) lower than KWD 27.4 billion ($91.51 billion) in the past week.
