Boursa Kuwait’s main index hits 2M-low Sunday

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session with a mixed performance; the benchmark price index went down 0.46%or 30.44 points to 6,631.91 points.

The price index posted its sixth decline in a row to touch its lowest level in two months.

Meanwhile, the weighted index added 0.05% or 0.19 points to 409.9 points, and the Kuwait-15 index went up 0.13% or 1.24 points to 959.84 points.

Oil and gas entities led eight decliners with 1.8% in line with the 6.1% fall of IPG.

As for the gainers, the consumer goods topped three rising sectors with 1.6%, backed by Kuwait Food – Americana which surged 8.9%.

Kuwait Cable Vision led the losers with 20%, while Hilal Cement headed the winners with 19.64%.

Boursa Kuwait’s trading value decreased by 2.1% to KWD 9.27 million on Sunday compared to KWD 9.08 million in the previous session after the trading volume shrank by 13.4% to 39.52 million shares; the lowest volume in 2018.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest turnover of KWD 2.63 million. The stock added 0.64%.

Kuwait Real Estate was the most active stock on which 3.73 million shares were traded. The stock edged down 0.4%.
