Kuwait – Mubasher: The price index of Boursa Kuwait rose by 1.45% or 83.10 points to reach 5,831.19 points by the week ended 5 January, 2017 as compared to 5,748.09 points by the week ended 29 December, 2016.
The weighted index levelled up by 1.25% or 4.77 points in a week, and Kuwait-15 gained 1.5% or 13.22 points this week.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 9.6% to reach KWD 80.73 million this week from KWD 89.34 million a week ago.
Trading volume decreased by 5.9% to reach 885.56 million shares when compared to 941.43 million in the previous week.
Transactions narrowed by 13.7% to stand at nearly 18,070 deals from about 20,940 a week ago.
Market cap grew by 1.26% or KWD 330 million ($1.08 billion) to reach KWD 26.59 billion ($86.66 billion) this week from KWD 26.26 billion ($85.59 billion) a week ago.
