Boursa Kuwait starts Sunday in red zone

Kuwait – Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait started Sunday’s trading session lower in line with the launch of the new trading system of the stock market.

By 9:45 am Kuwait time, the price index lost 0.17% or 11.13 points to reach 6,714.65 points; both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices retreated by 0.32% and 0.54%, respectively.

The telecom sector led six decliners with 1.76%, dragged by Viva which lost 2.94%.

Meanwhile, the consumer goods segment topped five gainers with 0.76%, on the back of Muntazahat and Jazeera which rose by 4.3% and 2.15%, respectively.

MENA Real Estate was the top loser with a fall of 10.9%, while Metal led winners with a growth of 18.18%.

The market’s liquidity amounted to KWD 1.8 million, after 14.9 million shares were exchanged through 399 transactions.

Abyar was the most active stock on which 3.2 million shares were traded, reaching 25.5 fils.

AUB, which rose by 0.97%, recorded the highest liquidity of about 598,020.
