Brazil exports to UAE hit $2.5bn in 2017

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Brazilian exports to the UAE reached $2.5 billion in 2017, President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Rubens Hannun stated on Monday.

Sugar and meat topped other imports from Brazil to the UAE, totalling $1.4 billion, Hannun added during a meeting between officials from Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (MAPA) and their counterparts in the UAE government.

Meanwhile, the Emirati exports to the Latin American nation registered about $186 million, the top official revealed.

“The outcome of the meetings between the two sides was highly positive and encouraging and has bolstered MAPA’s efforts to reach new markets in the region,” Hannun concluded.
