Mubasher: Brazilian exports to the Arab world surged 40.3% year-on-year to $980.4 million during April.
The total volume of these exports recorded 2.7 million tonnes, according to a report released on Saturday by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
“The positive figures that we have posted for the month of April demonstrates the strong trade ties that we continue to maintain with the Arab region. This also reflects strong demand and popularity for Brazilian products, which are widely known for its world-class quality,” ABCC’s president Rubens Hannun.
Brazil’s exports to the UAE reached $239.15 million last month, while the South American country’s exports to Saudi Arabia and Egypt hit $177.2 million and $92.8 million, respectively.
The value of exports to Oman and Bahrain registered $63.49 million and $51.7 million in the first month of the second quarter, respectively.
“We remain confident that the region will continue to see a key demand for Brazilian commodities. Rest assured that we will remain steadfast in our commitment to drive in more growth opportunities to further enhance trade relations between Brazil and the Arab region,” Hannun said.
Some of the top exported goods recorded in April were meat, corn, beet sugar, iron ores & concentrates, aircraft, satellites, live bovine animals, bovine meat, and coffee, the ABCC revealed.
In the first quarter of 2019, Brazil’s exports to the Arab world went up to $3.15 billion from $2.75 billion in the year-ago period.
