Dubai – Mubasher: The number of buildings using Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation’s (Empower) district cooling services grew 13.6% year-on-year to 920 last year in Dubai, according to a statement.
The increase is mainly attributed to a rise in new projects using the company’s services last year, as well as higher operational capacity.
“We expect to register more growth and to maximise the coverage of the services to reach a whole new set of buildings in the coming years,” according to Empower CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar.
The company currently operates more than 1.25 million refrigeration tonnes, providing district cooling services to prominent real estate developments in Dubai
Empower is currently considering three deals to acquire cooling firms in the UAE.
