Mubasher: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) on Tuesday stated that its monthly issuance of Islamic Sukuk worth BHD 26 million has been covered.
The short-term issue in the Sukuk Al-Ijara series matures within 182 days.
The 139th issue starts on 16 March and ends on 14 September, the CBB added in its statement on behalf of Bahraini government.
Expected return of this issue is 2.37%, similar to the previous one issued on 9 February, and was covered by 100%.
In mid-December 2016, the CBB decided to raise interest rates by 25 basis points, while interest for one-month deposits increased to 1.55%.
The CBB’s last issue was in February. It was also a short-term Islamic Sukuk worth BHD 26 million.
