CBE announces new Hijri year holiday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that banks will be closed on Thursday, 20 August, commemorating the new Islamic Hijri year 1442.

Banks will be reopened on Sunday, 23 August, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Egyptian Exchange said that trading will be halted on Thursday on the occasion of the new Islamic year to be resumed on Sunday.
