Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has removed caps on deposit and withdrawal of foreign currency for importers of non-essential goods, according to MENA.
The CBE had previously applied a deposit limit of $10,000 per day and $50,000 per month as well as a withdrawal limit of $30,000 per day for importers of non-essential goods in 2012.
The cap on deposits and withdrawals for non-essential importers was one of the foreign currency restrictions in Egypt after the Egyptian pound’s value dropped against the US dollar.
